Maureen Gaffney

We were saddened to hear of the death of Maureen Gaffney who passed away last week following a long illness.

Maureen was a long-serving parishioner of St. Andrew’s, having come to Cyprus some 30 years ago with her late husband John. She was an active member of the congregation and served the church in many and varied ways during her time here.

Sadly Maureen suffered from ill-health during the past number of months and was unable to attend church for the mid-week Holy Communion service on Thursday morning, as had been her practice in latter years. However she regularly received Holy Communion at home in the company of her friends, brought to her by the chaplain, the Revd Wendy Hough.

We extend our deepest sympathy to her family and all who  mourn her loss.

Maureen’s funeral will take place on Friday 28th April 2017 in Yesiltepe (Green Hills) at 11.00am.

Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
And let light perpetual shine upon her.
