Christmas Day with Fr Andrew Tatham

It was a joy to welcome Fr Andrew Tatham, frequent visitor and great friend of St Andrew’s, to preach at our Christmas Day Service.

In his sermon, Fr Andrew shared with us insights from a fascinating talk he had attended, given recently by Archbishop Rowan Williams.

The Archbishop had pointed out that the Greek word ‘Logos’ has more than one meaning.
Often translated as ‘the Word’, Logos also means ‘Connection’.

Fr Andrew demonstrated how John, Chapter 1 becomes more intense, and takes on greater meaning, if ‘Connection’ is substituted for ‘the Word’:

“ In the beginning was Connection, and the Connection was with God, and the Connection was God…”

It was wonderful that the Archbishop’s wisdom could be shared with us here in Kyrenia, through Fr Andrew.
