Fr Alec and Linda were delighted to be able to attend the Collation of The Venerable Paul Carr (Priest in Paphos) as Archdeacon in Cyprus and the Ordination to the Diaconate of Maria Evangelou (Nicosia) at a wonderful service at St Paul’s Cathedral, Nicosia on Saturday.
The Right Reverend Sean Semple presided and preached, with Fr Alec as his chaplain.

Anne Lloyd, our former Church Secretary, updates us on her new life as a Chelsea Pensioner:
‘Life here at the Hospital is pretty manic at the moment as we are in the middle of the Chelsea Flower Show which takes place in part of our grounds. Thousands of people stream in every day. Some of us are involved working in our gift shop or attending promotion events. The gardens and displays are amazing and there is a really happy and exciting atmosphere everywhere.
I’ve even managed to meet a couple of celebrities!’

We pray for families and friends in the region, that they will be safe from harm.
We pray for a swift end to the conflict and a just peace between the two nations.

On behalf of the Diocese, Bishop Sean congratulates Pope Leo XIV on his election as the 267th Bishop of Rome.
Please join Bishop Sean in prayer for His Holiness and the people of the worldwide Church,

O God, eternal shepherd, who governs your flock with unfailing care,
We give you thanks for calling Pope Leo XIV to be a watchful leader and caring pastor of the Church.
