Our very own Anne Lloyd in the news!

Stalwart of St. Andrew’s; Church Secretary, Magazine Editor, Pew Sheet Producer, Tustee – a lady who could (and did !) turn her hand to pretty much anything – has made the news.
Anne, who also served as Secretary of the UK Friends of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf, features in a story recently published by the BBC (https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cgmy00ly79ko).

Anne is now a Chelsea Pensioner – as residents of the Royal Hospital Chelsea Old Soldiers’ retirement home in London are known. The home provides accommodation and care for former members of the British Army.

An article in The Times newspaper notes that Anne “enlisted as clerical support in 1963 and was posted to Aden, Yemen. She met her husband in the service, and they had postings all across the world together.”

€1,200 raised for Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

During Advent members and friends of St Andrew’s, Kyrenia raised €1,200 for Al-Ahli Hospital in Gaza.

Bishop Sean said,
“ I am so very grateful for your generous contribution to the 2024 Advent Appeal. We are called as Christians to make love visible, and this is what you have done through your donation to the Diocese of Jerusalem. Please could you convey my thanks and gratitude to all involved in this wonderful fundraising.”

Following the ceasefire, our sister Diocese of Jerusalem has released this statement, thanking donors for their support.
