Treasurer
The church council are pleased to announce that Grahame Ash has agreed to take on the role of treasurer.
The Hermitage
The refurbishment of the Hermitage has been completed.
Forthcoming Events
Music Week starts 15th October.
Parish Lunch Sunday 5th November.
Diocesan Directory.
A new directory is being complied and will be available shortly.
Institution of the Rev Alec Mitchell
On Sunday 4th June 2023 Bishop Michael Instituted the Rev Alec Mitchell as Priest-in-Charge of St Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia.
This was also Bishop Michael’s last service in St Andrew’s before his retirement and so a presentation of a painting of Kyrenia Harbour by Maxene Schailer was made to him and his wife Julia.
We wish them both a long and happy retirement, and every blessing to Fr Alec and his wife Linda as they begin their ministry here in St Andrew’s.

Thursday 4th May 2023
1. Need for Treasurer.
We are still in need of a treasurer. If you are able to help, please speak to one of the wardens. You do not have to be a Church Council member to take on this role.
2. Update of work at the Hermitage.
The refurbishment of the Hermitage is nearing completion and work on the garden has begun.
3. Licencing and Gift.
Father Alec will be licenced by Bishop Michael on Sunday 4th June. As this is the Bishop’s last service before he retires a gift will be given to Julia from the people of St. Andrew’s.
4. Music Week.
This will be held in October 2023.
Harvest Festival and Music Week Eucharist Sunday 15th October.
Monday 16th October 19.30p.m Charity Concert.
“Monday is Music Night”
5. Parish Lunch.
This will be held on Sunday 5th November. Further details to follow.
Ascension Day Service in St. Andrew’s
The Solemnity of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, also called Ascension Day, commemorates the Christian belief of the bodily Ascension of Jesus into Heaven. Following the account of Acts 1:3 that the risen Jesus appeared for 40 days prior to his Ascension, Ascension Day is traditionally celebrated on a Thursday, the fortieth day of Easter.
Ascension Day will be celebrated in St. Andrew’s on Thursday 18th May 2023 at 12 noon
The Revd Anne Futcher will preside at the Holy Communion service where the preacher will be the Venerable Christopher Futcher, Archdeacon of Cyprus.

Easter Day and baptism of Chimturumugo Success Chiboy
St. Andrew’s church was full to bursting (once more necessitating the use of the Hall for the overflow congregation!) as Easter Day was celebrated on Sunday 9th April 2023.
But it was also a very special day for one young person as Fr George Vidiakin baptised Chimturumugo Success Chiboy
We welcome Chimturumugo to the family of the Church as we say, with believers throughout the world, Christ is risen – he is risen indeed! Alleluia!
Palm Sunday Parish Lunch
A delicious Palm Sunday Parish Lunch was held in the Parish Hall on Sunday 2nd April where those who attended were served a delicious Irish Stew or Vegetable and Cheese Pasta, followed by Osman’s Special Sherry Trifle or Linda’s Very Own Bakewell Tart.
Donations were welcomed towards church funds.
Sincere thanks to Earl Moffitt for organising this event, those who provided the comestibles, and to those who helped set up and clear the Hall afterwards.
